UPDATED COVID GUIDELINES – EFFECTIVE JANUARY 3, 2022

On December 27, the CDC shortened its recommended COVID-19 isolation and quarantine period from 10 days to 5. In alignment with this recommendation, effective January 3, Nissan and Yates will also update their policies.

New Policy

Previous communication regarding COVID pay still applies. COVID is treated as any other absence and will be unpaid unless paid time is available for the 5 day quarantine period.

COVID-19 is constantly changing and additional policy adjustments may be needed to keep our workplaces safe. Please continue exercising safety measures and help prevent the spread.

UPDATE ON COVID-19 EMERGENCY TEMPORARY STANDARD (ETS)

(Updated 1/14/22)

Yesterday the U.S. Supreme Court stopped the enforcement of the OSHA Emergency Temporary Standard (ETS), which required companies with more than 100 employees to either vaccinate or test their workers.

As a result, Yates’ COVID-19 Vaccination and Testing Policy, which was communicated on January 10, 2022, is cancelled immediately and is no longer in effect.

The OSHA ETS required Yates to publish our policy on January 10. With the ETS now halted by the Supreme Court, Yates will not move forward with the Policy announced earlier this week.

Thank you for your patience and efforts to help address the challenges we face as a business.

3/2/2022 COMMUNICATION – YATES MASK UPDATE

To align with new mask guidance from the CDC, which has updated how it evaluates risk levels in the community, both Smyrna and Canton Plants will move to “mask optional” facilities effective immediately. The Decherd plant remains in a high risk category with masks still required in the facility. These updated protocols apply to anyone at a Nissan facility, including employees, contractors and visitors. Employees at Smyrna and Canton may continue to wear a mask in the workplace if they choose to do so.

We will continue to monitor reports of local, state health and governmental agencies regarding the spread of COVID-19. Factors such as changes to community risk levels, the volume of internal positive cases, and the volume of workplace transmission could result in changes to this protocol by individual work sites in the future. We will require you to continue to follow current COVID-19 testing and reporting protocols.

CDC information is expected to be updated on a weekly basis. The company is using data provided by the CDC in the COVID-19 Community Levels section of the CDC website at https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/science/community-levels.html to determine which locations can take masks off or leave masks on. To check the status of specific work locations, please click here. Updates will be shared via NTV, the Driver’s Seat app and the Yates Services website.

The health and safety of employees remains our highest priority. Thank you for your continued patience and cooperation during this time.
