Maintenance technician responsible for maintenance and repair of gas fired boiler house equipment in an automotive manufacturing facility. Prefer a self-starter who is hardworking, highly motivated and able to work under little supervision. An excellent communicator who is able to follow directions efficiently and provide feedback in a timely manner. We are a highly customer focused organization; as a result, overtime is required to meet business needs.
Job Responsibilities include:
- Technician will maintain the Refrigeration systems of the Boiler House. This will include 10 Electric Centrifugal Chillers rated at 1600 tons each. There are 3 Refrigeration Air Driers rated at 60 tons of Refrigeration each and will handle 15,000 scfm air flow.
- Technician will be required to perform PM’s on the electrical power supply to machines, equipment, cables and wires to equipment. The Normal voltages encountered are 120, 240, 480, and 4160.
- Diagnose malfunctioning apparatus such as transformers, motors, and Starters, refrigeration components, purge units and replace components.
- Tests malfunctioning machinery and discusses malfunction with other maintenance workers, such as Maintenance Engineer and supervision, to diagnose malfunction.
- Technician must be able to Test components for pressures, temperatures, resistance, voltage, and other characteristics.
- Disassemble equipment and examines parts for defects.
- Repairs or replaces defective parts of equipment.
- Keep records on repair and calibration of equipment.
- Replaces faulty refrigeration and electrical components of equipment such as relays, switches, motors, pressure and temperature sensing devices.
- Troubleshoot and Replace electric motors and pumps.
- Diagnoses and replaces faulty mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components of machines and equipment.
Requirements:
- Prefer a minimum of three years’ experience in an industrial setting
- Centrifugal chiller experience preferred
- Must have Universal certification in refrigerant handling.
- Able to logically work through mechanical problems and breakdowns.
- Knowledge of power and hand tools
- Ability to frequently walk up and down stairs for inspections and emergency procedure practice or implementation
- Ability to interpret schematics and blueprints
- Able to work at heights in a safety harness
Additional Requirements:
- Available to work any shift, to include week-ends.
- Speak, read and write fluent English
- Have a valid Driver’s license
- Have a verifiable stable work history
- Successfully complete Chemical screen and thorough background checks to include Criminal History and work history
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs
- Able to stand for long periods of time
- Hard working with the ability to stay focused and pay attention to detail
- Safety conscious and able to work well with others
