Job Title: System Technician – Decherd Facilities
Summary Provides a variety of service, repair, installation and reporting duties at the Nissan Mfg facilities in Decherd TN.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
• Work week is 40 hour minimum
• Overtime is required, both scheduled and short notice
• Able to work any shift and any plant as required
• Able to work any day as required
• Report schedule deviations to your Supervisor by Monday morning
• Utilize proper protocol for routine problem reporting and concerns, sufficient reaction time should be allowed prior to escalation. These should always be addressed to your immediate supervisor first, never to the customer
• Responds to production related calls in a timely and efficient manner. Completes log entries for production calls and pass-down information soon after the call is complete. A typical production related call could consist of interfacing with the customer, troubleshooting, repairing and / or replacing electronics, coordinating efforts with other departments, monitoring system performance after repairs, finalizing communications with all affected parties afterward
• Monitor, repair and maintain spares inventory of production related equipment. Notifies Site Supervisor of deficiencies that he / she are not able to remedy
• Responds to production device alarms, logs actions taken and observations made
• Maintains assigned production systems to achieve optimum performance and reliability
• Work Orders – Participate in work-order activities as required
• Able to read block diagrams, functional diagrams and schematic diagrams
• Proficient in panel buildup and wiring techniques
• Set up, load and configure PC’s and tablets as required. Windows administration as required
• Cable termination and installation, all types

Education and/or Experience
• Two year college or university program certificate; or two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Degrees or experience could include computer, electronics, industrial studies and / or engineering
Language Skills
• Ability to read and write, analyze and interpret daily logs, tech tips and procedure manuals
• Ability to present information and respond to questions from customers, co-workers, supervisors and management
Mathematical Skills
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts
Reasoning Ability
• Ability to apply common sense as well as solve complex problems
• Ability to logically work through production problems and make reasonable decisions based on information gathered and / or provided
Computer Skills
• Microsoft Office Suite, Control Panel, Task Manager
• Utilize PC to interface with and configure production tracking devices and readers
• Other applications as required by site
Virtual Machines
• Familiarity with Virtual Machine operation and interface
Thin Clients
• Familiarity with Thin clients, configuring and operation
Network Install / Configuration
• Ability to work with fiber, UTP and various network hardware components. Configure and install same
Database Skills
• Ability to perform SQL queries
Human Machine Interface
• Ability to design and develop HMI screens
• Ability to read, understand and troubleshoot basic scripting
