Specific Duties:

As a Technician you will be primarily responsible for inspecting, troubleshooting and repairing overhead crane systems. Familiarity with gear drives, bearings, couplings, wire rope hoists, chain hoists, VFD controls, Remote Radio controls etc. is preferred. You will work hands on and use critical thinking to solve overhead crane issues. Technicians typically work from a ladder or lift on equipment at heights of 40 to 60 feet. A candidate for this opportunity must be flexible, communicate openly and clearly, and be able to work within a team environment at all times. Perform periodic and annual inspections of each of our 16 cranes in the Stamping plant. Replace wire ropes on each crane annually. Position may require occasional tasks to support the efforts of the maintenance department.


  • At least one year of experience in an industrial maintenance environment or equivalent military experience
  • Ability to troubleshoot problems and work toward a solution
  • Ability to interface with site engineering personnel regarding equipment condition
  • Ability to provide written and/or electronic reports and verbally communicate with others
  • Ability to work at heights greater than 30 feet off of the ground
  • Ability to work varied hours, overtime and/or “on call” as needed
  • This position requires standing, walking, sitting, lifting, carrying, pushing/pulling, balancing, kneeling and crawling
  • Communicate and interact with technicians, supervisors, managers and occasionally vendors in an effective manner
  • Able to keep the area organized and neat
  • Work with minimal supervision, minimal direction while maintaining an efficient process
  • Assure safety, quality and efficiency on all requirements
  • Train or assist with training of new technicians
  • Ability to operate forklifts, overhead cranes and obtain license to operate


  • HS Diploma or GED
  • At least one year of experience of electrical/mechanical troubleshooting and repair
  • Prior experience with cranes
  • 3 years experience in an industrial setting is preferred
  • OSHA hoist and crane inspection training
  • Millwright knowledge
  • Mathematical aptitude a plus

Shift Schedule:   4-day wk   Thursday – Sunday     hrs:   6am – 4:30pm
