Working closely with the Nissan Controls Engineering Network Team, the individual will have responsibilities for first and second level network operations support as well as supporting engineering to maintain system up time and deploy new solutions that support plant applications. Job Responsibilities include:
Ability to work independently and as part of an engineering team providing technical solutions. Coordinate network installation and configuration tasks with customers, vendors, co-workers and supervision. Troubleshoot network events and repair network systems. Monitor network health using available systems, software, and tools. Provide production support after system modifications or installations. Make recommendations for improved network reliability based on experience and findings Plan and prepare for scheduled modifications to the manufacturing network environment. Create/maintain network documentation, perform network terminations as necessary (UTP). Notify Site Supervisor and/or Controls Engineering of needs and concern. Supervise internal and external groups during major network projects
Education and/or Experience
- Two year college or university program certificate; or two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Degrees or experience could include computer, electronics, networking, industrial studies and / or engineering.
- Ability to read and write, analyze and interpret daily logs, tech tips and procedure manuals
- Ability to present information and respond to questions from customers, vendors, co-workers, supervisors and management
- Must have demonstrated knowledge of networking concepts
- Experience with CISCO or other major network vendor networking equipment desired
Other Requirements:
- Standing and walking on a concrete surface for extended periods
- Sitting at a desk or console for extended periods
- Kneeling periodically on concrete or padded surface
- Lifting up to 50lbs to waist height (request assistance as needed)
- Climbing a vertical ladder, up to 25ft.
- Walking / working in mezzanine area (20-25ft. high)
- Walking / working in overhead truss area (30 – 35ft. high)
- Microsoft Office Suite, Control Panel, Task Manager, Visio for documentation
- Utilize PC to interface with and configure network devices
- General Office demands
- Proficient with electronic test equipment such as multi-meter and cable analyzer
